I had a customer get mad at me once because I wouldn’t give him a 50% discount on an item that he wanted to purchase. His logic was that I am the owner and I can do whatever I want. To which I replied, “You’re right. I am the owner. I could light it on a fire right in front of you if I wanted, but I don’t make money and stay in business that way, do I?“ after a few minutes of arguing with me, he decided he couldn’t win and he finally left.

The audacity of the guy trying to get something that wasn’t on the menu and continuing to try and force the issue is beyond ridiculous. When the owner said it’s not available, one would think, that should’ve ended things. The “barge of a man” owner was a great thing.
