"I can't stand this anymore Jack" is the exact moment where Ennis fully surrenders to Jack. When Jack finishes his "I wish I knew how to quit you" monologue, he goes to Ennis because he sees that he's crying. Ennis fights back for a moment, before ultimately deciding that he'd rather just surrender himself to the man he loves, than to live in pain. The reason I mentioned Ennis fighting back is because back when they were with the sheep, Ennis injured himself during the whole bear scene, Jack went to cure his wound, Ennis let himself be cured by Jack for three seconds before yanking the handkerchief away, basically mirroring how he's running away from his feelings for Jack. Years later we have the "Sometimes I miss you so much I can hardly stand it" scene, where Jack goes and caresses Ennis's face, Ennis lets him, even closing his eyes in endearment. Even more time has passed during the "I wish I knew how to quit you" monologue scene, Ennis tries to go back into fighting Jack, as a way to run away from his feelings again (just like in the bear scene). Ennis decides to actually let himself be held by Jack whilst crying, showing that he does want that life with Jack, but doesn't want to endanger them both. End of rant omfg
