stuff like this will never be a waste to me. obviously not a good habit to get into if you don’t have never ending money flow though😂 bought this mare for just short of 5 figs. Had an offer of 40k, but also had a therapeutic riding center offer what i bought her for. Sold her to the riding center and now get text messages every month (it’s been two years since the sale) of all these kids and adults with speacial needs who adore her. I couldn’t be happier.

I invested about 25k into my OTTB and sold him for $1500..he had a lot of anxiety and needed to go to a trainer and a good home. Huge loss but he’s happy now.

stuff happens, hank was 20 years old when i retired him from the “big girl stuff” (i wasn’t even ready most of the time) 😂 i sold him to a family, she did gymkanas with the young girl, jumping., until he passed away sep 3rd from colic

Awww! Unfortunately I bought a horse for 5k now he’s worth 25k due to court fees ofc I would never sell him for that because he’s 20 and why would I sell a horse that cost us over 20k in court fees lol! So when someone asks me how much he was I say 25k 😢

You did the right thing. You learnt a valuable lesson early & without going broke & the horse got a great home. We all make mistakes, learn from it & move on. No point beating yourself up when no one got hurt.

I'll always take a gamble on a golden pinto, every single one I've worked with has been amazing. I've almost kept several that I was training before, but this girl is my forever horse.

If it makes you feel better bought a horse for $75k and sold it back for less than $30k after three years and spending more than $10k for showing. had a tone of issues and training and at one point almost became unridable. Was SUCH a loss😭

Your tax man will probably tell you that you did the wrong thing but TBH you put the horses welfare over profit (and made a little girls dream come true), that makes you ethical. I’d rather be known for being ethical v’s profitable. Of course both would be lovely but if I had to choose!

I bought this mare for 1,300, OTTB, retrained her had her for theee years and sold her for 15k to the best home ever and I don’t regret a thing

This past year I’ve lost around 15k in horses. Bought one for $5500, then another for $3k. Traded the $5500 for a younger mare and she ended up being totally not sound for any type of riding, I put about $4k into her. The $3k horse passed away two months into owning her. Not including all the vetting and extra 😫

You did the right thing for sure. 👏✨🥰 I had a high performance horse, best personality, so pretty, trained in a bit of everything, loved kids. My health took a turn & I couldnt keep my farm. But i couldn't handle my mare ending up somewhere I couldn't help/monitor her. So I started having various young teens over to chill & hang out at the barn. Found the right one, she came in & never left my girl's side. Was just infatuated! I called her Mom the next day & asked if wanted to care for my Mare long term. They were estatic. They would never have been able to afford this experience for their daughter otherwise. And she had the best home, which I could visit anytime & they loved her & spoiled her until she died. Just because a household has "purchase money" doesn't mean they will appreciate or love that horse. 🐎🫶✨️

Remember that money is only one measurement of success. I also just want to say how noticeable it is in all of your videos the horses’ dispositions and how that speaks volumes to your methods, education, and skill.. So did you do the right thing? Hands down. Horse welfare over financial profit.

I brought this wonderful stallion when i was a teen for 1k(he was my thing I brought with tons of Christmas and birthday money) I mean I was able to put kids on him. I sold him 2 years later to a police officer for 25k and I don’t regret a thing. I then used that money to buy my broodmare Evie. (She birthed my best friend man) so long story short that was a huge success story
