@clemreye: The Terracotta Army is one of the most extraordinary archaeological discoveries in history. More than 2,200 years ago, China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, ordered the creation of an enormous underground army to protect him in the afterlife. Thousands of life-sized soldiers were made from clay, alongside horses, chariots and weapons. What makes them even more incredible is that the warriors were not identical each one has different facial features, hairstyles, expressions and details. The army remained hidden underground for more than 2,000 years until 1974, when local farmers accidentally discovered the first figures while digging a well.
