After the deregulation act, airlines could charge whatever they wanted (it was decided by the government up until that point) so they had to compete with hospitality and service. Now a days, you only have really three options and they know that so they just don’t care anymore because who else are you going to use and if you don’t like it then drive is their mentality on it. It won’t really be fixed because they don’t need to fix it, also the seats will continue to get smaller and the prices will continue to go up

thats like my Uber eats delivery yesterday. over 100 dollar full family meal but they missed 1 persons meal. call and get refund. 17 dollars. reorder. meals comes out to 19. then there's the delivery fee and taxes restaurant mark up etc. 34 dollar. like really..should have just picked it up myself.. Uber eats is such a garbage service.

Lol.. I fly internationally a couple of times a year. I noticed that buying my tickets about 6 months in advance, I could get business class tickets for a few hundred more than a regular economy ticket with no luggage. Now I flight first class all the time
