@madblacknurse: Visited an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand and had the most magnificent experience! Anyone, if you’re visiting elephants make sure you go to a place that lets them roam, has an adequate amount for food for them (they eat 100+ kgs of food a day!) and that they do not allow elephant riding. Seeing a saddle on an elephant in an enclosed space at any popular tourist attraction is a sure way of knowing that they’re mistreating the elephants. I also learned this day that baby elephants are just like other baby: they like to play! The mahout (elephant trainer) told us that this particular baby elephant loved to play, but was around us all ensuring safety. Needless to say, the elephant won this round of tag 😂
