@offenceregister: Thirty-four-year-old Craig Mason was jailed for five years in August 2026 after making and distributing indecent images of children and breaching sex offender notification requirements in Cumbria. Mason was subject to strict monitoring orders following previous convictions for child image offences between 2018 and 2024. During a routine compliance visit by Cumbria Police's MOSOVO team, Mason claimed he did not own a mobile phone or use social media. Officers conducted a search of his address on Fell View in Wigton and uncovered a concealed mobile phone hidden in his bedroom. Detectives conducted thorough enquiries and analysed the seized hardware. The investigating team worked methodically alongside specialized officers to review the device, discovering multiple unnotified social media accounts and evidence of making and distributing indecent images of children. Specialized analysts prepared evidence detailing his direct violations of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order. This thorough police work ensured that Mason entered guilty pleas before the court. Following proceedings at Carlisle Crown Court on the twelfth of August 2026, Mason was sentenced for his crimes. The presiding judge handed down a five-year prison sentence alongside a requirement to register on the sex offenders register for ten years. #CraigMason #childprotection #offender #protectourkids #domesticabuse
