Guidance feels smooth rather than forceful, and transitions are more fluid than the original's external rail setup. The forefoot is roomier too, which fixes my one real gripe with the v1. Honest caveat: it's put on half an ounce over the original, so if you're chasing grams this isn't your pick. And if you want soft cushioning, the Ultra Glide 4 is the better Salomon for you.
