That's how we roll in my home as well. My son is 13 and we have parental control on everything he has access to. We tried going without and he was accessing things his brain is not mature enough to fully comprehend. So yep we shut that down quickly! No sleep overs, we know who his friends are, he's probably big enough now for the front passenger seat but still sits in the back until he's a little older. No e-bikes either.

My daughters had computers growing up but they were in a common area where we were all together so that I could keep track of what they were doing. I didn’t let them have them in their bedroom.

My 18-year-old stepdaughter, likes to pull this with her mother, and I thinking, just because she's 18, she's an adult enough to do whatever the hell she wants when her mother and I both know she's not. We have reinforced everything that if she wants to be an adult, she needs to move out, have her own home, start her own life. So long as she's in my home and I'm paying all the bills in the rent. She either does what I say within reason, or she starts looking for her own place. I love her, but I will not condone disrespect in my house.

These are all sadly true. It’s hard that my kids won’t get to experience sleepovers like I did but all the horror stories I’ve heard make it not worth it

My son was spoiled NOT spoiled rotten! There is a difference! He knew if we said no that was it! We taught him the value of money, manners, chores, respect & he had lots of love! He's 22 now & I'm so proud of the man he's become!

Yup. Raised 7 children. Stop trying to be your kids friends and you are ALWAYs your child’s guardian, that means every minute of every day you need to know where your child is, who is around them and what they are doing!!!!!
