I don't think she was bad, but Ryan had that pizzazz that tricks so many hiring managers who are wowed by personality. Sure Ryan has a business degree, but he has no experience on the field. that's what David Wallace did not see. however Karen did become manager at Utica

he had an MBA. the writers at the time where showing what most public trades mid-level companies at that time used to do during the 2008 recession. they all panicked and wanted to become a tech company since those were the only companies making money at that time. sk they used to just hire some 20 something year old with an MBA that had would say alot of fancy tech buzz words and pat each other on the back. then a few years later they would just can the guy when they find out he didnt knoe what he was talking about. they all did it lol

It was actually pretty realistic from the stand point that lots of company’s favor new grads with no experience because it’s easier to “mold” them into what they want than try to retrain someone who already knows the expectations, rights/wrongs, etc.
