@_candleinadarkroom: I think about it all the time. What I’ve been doing with my life. Where I’ve been. Where I’m going. Everything I’ve survived. Everything I’m still trying to heal from. All the times I’ve had to pick myself back up when I didn’t know if I had anything left in me. Sometimes I wonder what all of this is for. I wonder if the pain will ever make sense. If the years I spent just trying to survive will someday feel like more than years I lost. If all the healing, all the work, all the ways I’ve tried to turn my pain into something that helps someone else… will actually mean something. I don’t want my story to just be about what happened to me. I want it to be about what I did with what happened to me. I want to know that I took the parts of my life that tried to destroy me and somehow built something beautiful from them. That I loved deeply. That I showed up. That I reached back for women who were still sitting in the darkness I once knew so well. That I made someone feel less alone. And maybe that’s what keeps me going when I’m tired of healing. Because when that part of me calls me back again, the part that asks me to keep going, to keep choosing life, to keep becoming, I hope I can look back and know it meant something. I hope I meant something. I hope this life I’m fighting so hard to live becomes the proof that what happened to me was never the end of my story. 🖤 #healing #traumarecovery #survivor #HealingJourney #cptsd
