@georgiaintech: What is tech sales? It’s one of the fastest ways to move from feeling underpaid, overworked and stuck… into a career where your income actually reflects your effort. Tech sales is selling software to businesses. Not products like clothes or makeup, but software that companies rely on to operate and grow. Think CRM systems, marketing platforms, AI tools, finance software and cybersecurity. Technology that solves real business problems. At entry level, you’re not expected to close deals straight away. Your role is to start conversations, speak to potential clients, understand their challenges and book meetings for senior sales reps. That’s why roles like SDR and BDR exist. You’re learning sales, communication, psychology and business all in one. And this is where it gets interesting. You don’t need a degree. You don’t need years of experience. You just need to understand how companies hire, learn the right skills and position yourself effectively. Most entry-level roles in the UK start around £30k–£40k base, with commission taking many people to £50k–£65k OTE in year one. As you progress into Account Executive roles, six-figure earning potential becomes much more realistic. Many companies also offer remote and hybrid working, alongside clear career progression, excellent benefits and uncapped commission.
