If we genuinely enjoy tracking our calories and macros, is there anything wrong with continuing to do it for as long as we like?

I wasn't going to practice maintenance, but thought I would try it like you said and I did freak out a bit on day 1 eating more calories, which just told me you were right to practice this while on the journey, so I don't freak out at the end. 😅 Love your videos!

What if you were eating at a deficit for a year. Then went on a glp1 and can only continue to lose weight at around 800-1000 cal a day. I’m roughly 15-20 lbs away from my goal weight and know I’m going to have to have an exit plan but I’m worried that the year I was in a deficit prior to a glp, that became my maintenance. Is it possible to slowly increase without truly gaining

I love you and your content. I’m here right now. My long term goal range is 125-130. Currently at 126.6 (89lbs down). I know 1.6lbs is very little but I’d like to hit my actual goal weight of 125 before entering the maintenance stage. If I’m honest, I’m so scared of that next stage. Unfortunately I didn’t practice along the way like you advise to do all the time. After years of losing and gaining everything back before ever hitting goal, maintenance is uncharted territory. I am on a glp and my dosage is being adjusted down in about 2 weeks to see if it allows me to eat more. I’m doing better with the mindset shift and how the scale number affects me but it is hard at times.

This video was soooooo extremely helpful! Love how you explain it all so well. I lost a little over 100 lbs from last Feb to this Feb in a big calorie deficit and have been focusing on body recomp since then and not so much the scale. I have lost 5 lbs since Feb and think I am eating close to maintenance but I must still be in a deficit. Should I stay in a deficit if I’m still looking to lose fat an build muscle?

Just to say, I saw your videos as I was just getting started in the gym and getting used to tracking. I’m now in a body recomp phase and loving life and I really appreciate a lot of your advice. Really no nonsense and set me up for a long term and sustainable change

Hello!! Unfortunately I am quite short so my maintenance for my current overweight self is 16-1800… to lose anything I have to go to 10-1300 calories so I am really struggling. I’m a low to mid active and just can’t get to a healthy weight. I don’t have a lot to lose only like 15-20 pounds but iv been trying on and off for the better part of 5 years. Do you have any tips?

So when you gain weight once you start maintenance, does it eventually go back down? I only wanted to lose 10 pounds and I did that, but gaining back 3-5 would be a big deal

hey Amanda. so I totally love the video and got the gist of it all. i just am confused about this thing. so I've been losing weight at a rate of 1 pound per week. now I wanna take a maintenance break, but in that period, I also wanna reduce my activity and relax for a bit. can u like help me out on how I do that cuz due to lowering my activity im getting very low maintenance calories (near my deficit). how do I reduce my activity but also go on a maintenance break? if I eat the same amount of food on my break, it just feels like I'm still in a restricted thingy and i wanna feel free from that, for a bit atleast. also I'm 5'2 so... i think that might be an issue.
