listen i’ve been in vet med for 7 years and i NEVER recommend automatic cat boxes bc you CANNOT get them clean like you can a stainless steel one. it takes so much less time & i can see that it’s ACTUALLY clean

Get the largest size stainless steel litter box you can get. Use a good litter and sprinkle SoPhresh over the top. Scoop frequently and you will not have an odor. Deep clean about every three weeks by dumping everything out and washing out the box.

Imagining having to clean an electronic litter box seems like way more work than just scooping manually and cleaning regular litter pans. I have 5 cats and 3 large litter pans. Yes, it's a lot of work but probably less than cleaning an electronic one.

Honestly I’ll never get any kind of auto cat box. My boy is too skittish and my girl is too curious and would 100% be in there while it’s running and I’d come home to a dead cat.

For my auto litter box I take the main peice off of the electrical peice I put it in the shower and use natural cleaning supplies and my jet mode of my shower head and then I clean my shower afterwards

Buying that shit is crazy. Buy a bucket with a lid, a normal damn litter box, and a $10 bag of 40lb pellet stove pellets. When wet it turns to sawdust. Not nearly as smelly. When you scoop, shake it over the bucket, sawdust that falls through scoop is trash, pellets left in scoop are still usable. It’s that easy. We make things so complicated for ourselves. Scooping a normal box doesn’t take nearly as much work. Used the pellets in a shelter with 40+ cats and there were days you’d never know there were even cats there. When your bucket is full, tie the bag and throw it in your trash can. Some animal owners just be doing waaayyyyy too much

You just take it out and use a power washer to clean it. And then you might have to do a little bit of scrubbing. But it’s not that bad. Girl put on your rubber gloves.

i took the leap for the litter robot 4, maybe 3-4 months ago? $800 fucking litter box. i had to completely throw it away and go back to a regular litter box last week. i will never get another auto litter box just for the “convenience” again.

I never understand the pet litter/pivot at all, I rather scoop every day or when my cat is doing her business instead of waiting till I need to clean that thing 🤢🤮

Even if they're safe, I hate electronic/robotic litter boxes. They break, litter and waist find their way into every crack😩 Cleaning the litter box everyday lets you know if something is up with your cat immediately vs. before it's too late anyways.
