Godzilla is an anaerobic organism. He also doesn't need to eat food like a regular animal. He survives by absorbing radiation. He also is like a large snake in the respect that he doesn't need to "eat"/absorb radiation on a regular basis. He can subsist on the normal ambient radiation levels, but will occasionally attack a nuclear submarine or power plant and absorb that radiation which gives him plenty of energy for a long time.
