As Vtuber its so HARD to not use Ai but i would rather wait till i have the money to pay for art or alerts, then use Ai. I recently found EmoteLab on steam and it changed my life with emote making 😭

I only used AI for my profile picture, banner and promotional photos is that looked at as a bad thing I don't use ai for anything in my streams.

Emote tip! emote labs on steam is under $20 (I think $9?) An artist made a bunch of assets you can recolor to make an emote to match you, and you have the ability to edit the textures for better customization. You can do static and animated emotes and more gets added with each update (so far been free). The image is the one I did for me and I added my logo to the camera.

I heard a lot of good things about “Meld” then I downloaded it and tried to set it up, and it only has an AI setup (that I can tell) that supposedly makes everything easier. It set up my alerts first for some reason, and I stopped the set up process after that. I was really looking forward to it too, because of all the positive reviews, but the use of AI was an immediate turn off.

I suck at drawing, my poor aunt tried her best but when it comes to that part of art, its like my hands are feet and also flipped. I paid for a month of canva to get some emotes (which I love cuz they're cats ' duuhhh) and panels. For overlays I use what streamelements had given for free, I couldn't find any evidence they're AI, actually it says they're made by real people. There are SO many free or cheap options as well. I paid 3€ for animated emotes on Etsy. Yes, they're not custom and 500 other streamers might have them, so what? I'm happy to have my animated emotes even so. The only AI I use is StreamLadder to help me get clips from my VODs, as I don't have someone to clip and I can't always clip myself. I still edit them myself, the AI only points out the good moments to turn into clips.

AI should only be used as a tool, like using templates to start an emote design. Sometimes we all need a solid starting point to get our ideas off the ground or help when stuck. But to use AI for everything, start to finish, is lazy.

I did fine with using a mix of ai and making my own things, Iv only streamed for 5 months and some people care some people don’t I think it’s just personal preference some people aren’t artistc to be able to make they’re own and don’t have money to be able to pay some one, I just don’t care what others do, most people don’t make it past 5 viewers any ways. 🤙 just bc you use ai for things doesn’t make your streams garbage
