@luisaomielan: What Would Beyonce Do?! is one of the most loved stand up debuts to come out of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. My debut stand up show and it never got nominated, at the time being a young woman with immigrant parents daring to be on stage and speak with autonomy and using music and joy to break down hard human being experiences, it was dismissed. I opened with in your face atyle comedy so I could wack em over the head later with the heavy stuff. it was comedy with joy, pop music and directed at a female crowd. It was not the status quo. Now my style of show is the norm,good. Why does it take so long for TV and Film to catch up with what is happening live. So if you are in Edinburgh this year, go see the underground stuff. Go see the shows that reviewers don't get but audiences love, because you might just stumble into a classic. Watch What Would Beyonce Do?! now on YT. Its got a bunch of outdated ref but if you want something feel good... also I hate my hair so much in this filming, it was always down for the show but at least you can see all the expressions.
