I put those hotel latches on my doors that are good for 600+ pounds. I worry about the windows and patio door being broken. I think my dogs are a fairly good detergent.

Take a map reading/ land navigation course or refresher. I was a level 1A EMT BACK IN THE DAY (90's /2000). Going back to get recertified because skills are perishable when not used.

My Walmart sells super cheap pads for $0.97 per box. It's on the bottom shelves. They always put the cheap stuff on the bottom shelves. Look down when you shop! I buy a box every time I'm there, to stock up.
