@prairie.creek.hom: 🫛 Did you know 🫛 Green beans have tiny hairs, a natural fiber that will act like Velcro. After a few days of being picked the bean fibers begin to dry up and they will lose their sticking ability. A great way to test how fresh those “fresh” purchased beans are! . . . #greenbeans #garden #homestead #farmwife #farmlife

Homemade White Chicken Chili 🌶️🍗 Ingredients: * 4 chicken breasts * 1 large onion * 4 whole bell peppers * 48 oz chicken broth * 4–5 cans Great Northern/White Northern chili beans * 1 packet McCormick Chicken Taco Seasoning (use 2 packets if you like it extra bold!) * 2 cans (4 oz each) chopped green chilies * 1 large container heavy whipping cream * 2 blocks cream cheese Seasonings — add to taste: * Garlic powder * Onion powder * Cayenne pepper * Black pepper * 1 teaspoon sugar 🍲 How to Make It 1. Start the vegetables. Chop the peppers and onion finely and add them to a large pot with the green chilies. Let everything simmer over medium heat for a few minutes, then add the chili beans. 2. Cook the chicken. While the chili is simmering, bake the chicken breasts at 375°F. Put thin slices of butter on top of each chicken breast to keep them moist. Don’t rush it—cook them low and slow. I don’t try to get them crispy or dark brown. I pull mine at 175°F. IMPORTANT: Save all those buttery chicken juices/grease! Let the chicken cool before shredding it. 3. Make it creamy. When the chicken is almost finished, turn the chili up to medium-high. Cut the cream cheese into small pieces and add it to the pot so it melts easier. Add the heavy whipping cream and taco seasoning. Stir frequently so nothing sticks. 4. Add the chicken. Once everything is coming together, shred the chicken and add it to the pot. 5. The good part. 😂 Pour the reserved butter and chicken juices into the chili. Stir everything together, taste it, and adjust your seasonings. Serve it hot and enjoy! 🔥 Pro tip: This chili is even better the next day. The flavors really come together overnight! #soup #fallrecipes #fall #souprecipe #cooking
