I have been having sleep paralysis since I was 10 (so 40 years). 95% of my experiences happen within the first several minutes of falling asleep. In all my research about the subject, this type of SP is less common. I actually learned how to astral projection from this state, which I tried the first time I woke up in SP while I was listening to Robert Monroe’s first Journeys book. This would be amazing, if it wasn’t for the low vibrational, horrifying entities who are there 100% of the time, and who do terrible things to me while in this state. I have been doing this for over a year and still cannot get past the entities to explore the astral realm. I’ve even had this happen with other people sleeping in the room with me and have seen entities who were attached to those people. They are terrifying and their presence alone has me completely halted in my astral projection journey, which is just right there at my fingertips but can’t get past that fear state Monroe talks about (that rubbery naked boy who climbed on him absolutely sent me). Any advice on how to get rid of them? I have attempted Monroe’s REBAL technique but in those experiences I am mortified beyond capacity because most of the time the entities have already made contact with me when I come to awareness and it’s been so difficult to achieve. 💚

I had the sleep paralysis/OOB. I could feel/see myself sitting up while laying down simultaneously (but physically mostly felt laying down) spirit felt sitting up. and then what looked like my (deceased) friend was standing at the bed reaching to me, glowing in like a white/light blue almost.

When I was very young, I bought a book on self-hypnosis. While the hypnosis itself didn't seem to work, it did teach me how to meditate. At the back of that book, I noticed an advertisement for another title called Out of Body Projections. I bought it, read through its techniques on calming the mind and meditation, and tried them out. Once again, nothing seemed to happen, so after six or seven months, I put the book aside and largely forgot about it. Eventually, strange things began to occur. It started with a high-pitched buzzing in my ears, followed by episodes of what I now know was sleep paralysis. Because I didn’t understand what was happening at the time, it terrified me. The episodes began infrequently—once every couple of months—before escalating to once a month, then weekly, and eventually three to four times a week. As the pattern developed, the sleep paralysis began to give way to a deep, powerful internal vibration throughout my body. Remembering what I had read in the projection book, I realized the process was actually beginning to work. For a long time, the experience stayed right at that threshold: paralysis followed by intense internal vibrations. Over time, my body began skipping the paralysis phase entirely; I would simply hear the buzzing and transition straight into the vibrations. Actually separating from my body proved difficult. Whenever the vibrations started, I would get too eager and try to force the exit, which inevitably caused me to snap out of it and wake up. The breakthrough came when I changed my approach. Instead of forcing it, I learned to calm my mind during the vibration stage and just go with the flow. Suddenly, I popped right out of my body. It happened during the day; I found myself floating above the bed, looking around. The bedroom was completely unchanged from when I had first laid down. That experience marked the beginning of my journey with astral projection, which went on to become a frequent part of my life during those years.

I love talking about sleep, paralysis! I have had sleep paralysis since I was a child. I have had out of body experiences since I can remember. And throughout the years, it has been pretty scary. As I have had negative spiritual attacks as well while being in paralysis. Full awareness that I cannot move, full awareness, that something feels off. I am wondering if the higher self consent a negative presence or a different energy with a different vibration coming in or that is in your room. It wakes the brain up, but the body still sleeping… I’ve had like it feels like brain spasms or where it feels like the whole side of my brain or even whole head is just it stings it tickles and it vibrates and it feels like I am being downloaded almost… But my whole body like is vibrating as the sensation is happening in my head… I have been able to out of body climb off my bed and try and get away from this negative entity that was throwing me around in my bed. This was after my nearly fatal car accident that left me a quadriplegic. My consciousness was aware of what was going on, I couldn’t get away from this thing I couldn’t see it, and it was literally throwing me around. I crawled off the bed, but I knew that I couldn’t fucking move in real life anyways, in real life, paralyzed! So this is a really hot topic for me and there is so many different opinions of what this is. And I still don’t even know. All I know is it’s fucking wild and we may not know for a long time. Sleep specialist and scientists say, oh it is this. Oh it is that! No. I don’t think that that it is… Not from what I have experienced personally for myself. I am shrugging shoulders at this point!

About 30 years ago I was temporarily living with my grandmother in her home. One night I went to go to bed and as soon as I sat on the bed I began to hear a sound. It was the faint sound of static electricity. Something like an old TV that wasn’t tuned in to a channel. The sound started getting louder and when I looked in the direction that it was coming from, there was a small white dot floating in the middle of the room. I was immediately frightened as I watched the white dot grow to the size of a basketball. It was crackling with static electricity. I was frozen with fear and a tiny dot of light shot out of it and hit me right between the eyes. Then I was completely paralysed. Every muscle in my body began to contract with so much power that I thought my bones were going to break. My level of fear was beyond anything I could have imagined. At the time I still believed in the religion that I had been indoctrinated with so in my mind I was screaming God help me. Then something like a thought entered my mind but it wasn’t me thinking it. It was as if I knew to let go and stop resisting. So I did. Within seconds it released me. I was no longer paralysed and the ball of static shrank down to a dot and completely disappeared. I told my father about it and he said it was a demonic attack. I told some of my friends about it and they all said it was sleep paralysis. To this day I’m still not sure but I’m leaning towards a possible inter dimensional encounter for some reason that I don’t understand.

Isn’t this common in an out of body “attempt” experience? This was not about sleeping bc it happened so quickly. I had an experience of using vibration (like your crystal bowls) that was uncontrolled and I thought I had nocked the lower part of my body off the bed. It took a while for me to wake and regain control and then I discovered that my physical body never moved and I was laying in my original position. So my experience of being knocked halfway off the bed was sort of a failed attempt to leave my body. I left my body but in a very awkward way that I did not expect or ever experience before.

I haven't had this for years and I never nap..but if I had a heavy night and fell asleep I'd wake up and for about 30 seconds I had no idea what where or who I was nothing..and used to describe it as I had to jump start my brian..I found it very frightening..I thought it was just me now finding out at 56 that there is alot of people in the world's have alot of strange things I have . I love the Internet for this.

I have a toxic ex that often gave me sleep paralysis dreams sleeping next to him, I broke up with him but still have these “nightmares”. It’s always sleep paralysis but always right as I’m drifting off to sleep, the dream comes on quickly and I lucid dream and wake myself up everytime 😳 is this a similar state?

Mine always happens as I’m falling asleep. I can tell it’s coming and sometimes stop it before it starts. I’ve had it since I was about 12 and I don’t understand when people enjoy it or want it to happen!

I had the same thing happen to me in high school. I’ll never forget it, I was so freighted. I fell asleep in class for a few minutes, I tried to wake myself up and couldn’t move. I was completely paralyzed and I tried to scream but couldn’t. It took a few minutes to get out of it and be able to move again.

Why didn’t you try the Gateway method of moving your finger to integrate fully back into your body? Or did you?
