A repository of credentials without corresponding productive capacity.
The deeper point is that education should not be measured only by the number of degrees accumulated, but by what knowledge produces in society. Five PhDs and seven master's degrees may demonstrate extraordinary capacity for academic study, but if none of that knowledge translates into inventions, businesses, technologies, jobs, policies, community transformation, or solutions to real problems, the credentials have limited developmental value.

I’d never even heard of him before… Kids in China 🇨🇳 are building the technology we use around the globe today, yet some folks are more concerned with accumulating certifications than actually producing and manufacturing. That is not to say higher education is entirely wrong or unnecessary, but what benefit is it if we neglect production, manufacturing, and the industries that serve people’s everyday needs? 🙂↔️🙂↔️🤷🏾

Academia is about access to knowledge, but knowledge alone is not enough. A true scholar must transform what they learn into an original contribution. Without that contribution, one may spend years studying without fully understanding the purpose of learning.

He wanted to discourage people who cherish several academic feats and accomplishments-that, even if you READ, certificates alone will not make you rich. You will still need an entrepreneur like one Hassan Bassajabalaba, the founder of Kampala International University, who ,with O level credentials, established one of the biggest universities in Africa. Hassan can make this Prof a VC at KIU, if he is lucky!
