I had a cousin who’s name was Austin. Austin’s middle name was Tanner. He had been called Tanner or Tanner-George his entire life. So on his first day of preschool he didn’t know what seat was his because his seat was labeled Austin. Austin Tanner George didn’t understand that and had full blown identity crisis/ meltdown right there in preschool.

To add onto this: PLEASE teach them YOUR full name and if you can your phone number and address. It’ll be so so important and helpful if they were to get lost or end up somewhere without you.

I had one that only knew himself by “Pookie”. An hour into the first day of school, a 5th grader walks by and yells “Hey Pookie!” Turns out they were cousins and his actual name was Erik.😂

Also.. teach your kids YOUR full names. "What's your moms name?" "mommy" is NOT going to help in any kind of emergency. If you dont teach your kids these basic things, youre setting them up for failure.. or honestly worse. ANYTHING can happen, your kids need to know their home address, full name, parent/guardians full name, and honestly their age.

One year in preschool, parents sent IDENTICAL NONVERBAL TWINS on the bus (didn’t come to open house) with no name tags and dressed exactly the same. We had no clue what class to put them in.

We used to call my youngest brother Poopy Head and had to stop calling him anything but Gabriel before he went to school because he deadass thought his name was Poopy Head. Good thing our mom tried to rehearse his first day of school introductions with him so we found out early 😂

my uncles got this joke where he calls all his kids and grandkids George. He started calling his grandkid, whos name is Lochlyn, Lochlyn George. Lochlyns now 9 and recently had a massive argument with my nan on what his middle name is because he actually thinks its George now. 💀
