do we know if people refusing to travel to the US has had any notable economic impact on broadway? anecdotally, a lot of people in my toronto circle used to go down to NYC annually and see a few shows, but none of us go to the states since the trade war. I don't know if this is reflected on a wide enough scale to be financially significant, but I'd be curious to know if we have any data

I think one of the biggest problems is that we stopped giving opportunities to musical theatre writers who are in it for the love of storytelling. Stop hiring Carly ray jepsens to write your movie musical adaptation/ that no one even wants to see in the first place. Why are producers spending time on things that aren’t event worth it to begin with, then they get to Broadway and flop miserably and everyone acts surprised.
