Great conversation! And an excellent opportunity to hold two truths: 1. Trump accepted the fact that digital assets/crypto were a transformational technology. He embraced the technology and placed a high priority on participating in the space and making regulatory progress. 2. He also seized an opportunity, devoid of any separation between his trusted role as a public servant and his primal, predatory personality for economic gain, which resulted in billions in personal profit. And while I understand this post is centered on Trump, I have to say that, while attending the Bitcoin Conference in 2024, I was sad to hear that both the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates were invited, and Vice President Harris chose not to attend. It sent a message to me that Democrats either did not place value on digital assets or preferred to let traditional finance incumbents introduce this technology on their own terms. And the result (partially, Democrats are not responsible for Trump’s own actions) is the type of situation we are now discussing.

The money Trump made off crypto had nothing to do with any legal issue he had influence over, though. His meme coin was just a very successful coin. I’m pretty neutral when it comes to politics so I can see it pretty clearly on both sides . I wouldn’t say that acquiring millions rather than a billion is morally better. I don’t advocate for one party over the other. I think they’re both just as bad. I was just making an observation from my small viewpoint that one side is not better than the other no matter how you slice it. Clinton foundation went through billions of dollars in Haiti that never went to the people so one could argue, that was worse because it took advantage of a whole country. A tiny critique on David Graber. He is correct to say , “that human freedom, social equality, and cooperation are innate and historically vast”. I agree. This would hold true in an ideal society where everyone was unconditionally loving and selfless, and lived for others at the expense of themselves. That is not the case? Why not? What made man so selfish? Were we created this way, or did something happen? We need to know. Were David goes South is when he says, “we are actively suppressed by modern capitalism, bureaucratic red tape, and rigid social hierarchies”. Is capitalism perfect ? No. It is by far the only economic system that has ever brought more wealth to an entire civilization than any other civilization. It’s the only economic system that both parties involved in a transaction can mutually benefit. So then what’s wrong? The economic system is not what at fault, but the fallen greedy, selfish,… nature of man. That is what has to be addressed. We have the same problem when we try to implement Communism. What makes the Communist leaders all noble, honorable, selfless, giving, and people with integrity? They would be just as selfish, greedy, and corrupt as the capitalist system they vow to replace. What needs to be addressed is the “fallen state of man”, not the systems. This is where are questions and research should begin. “There are answers.!” No one is looking or asking the questions. They are to busy criticizing each other.

You three have a very secular humanistic view of ideologies, politics, economics, and culture.
