Hot take — millennials aren’t burnt out from one hard thing. 👇 We’re burnt out from never getting a break between all of them. We spent years in school learning MLA format and submitting essays at 11:59pm. We memorized things we have genuinely never used again. And not once did anyone teach us how money actually works. How to invest. How to negotiate. How to build something of our own. But we could cite a source in perfect APA format so. Then we were told — get the grades, do the activities, go to college, maybe grad school, get the degree, get the job. That job will be fulfilling. That will be the payoff. So we did everything right. And then we graduated straight into a recession. We just figured it out because that’s what millennials do. We adapted and kept going and built careers anyway. Then we got married and had kids because that was the next step on the list. And then we found ourselves dropping our babies off at daycare every morning — missing the first words and the small ordinary moments that make up an entire childhood — just to afford the daycare we were leaving them at. And then we came home depleted and were expected to cook and clean and be patient and present and then somehow generate a side income just to keep up with a cost of living that was never supposed to feel this impossible. We are not burnt out because we are weak. We are burnt out because we have been running on empty for over a decade with the finish line moving every single time we got close. We deserved better than this. And I think it’s time we start building something that actually reflects that. 🤍 Follow along if this is your story. And comment TOOLKIT below if you’re ready to start building something different. I’ll send you my free PDF that goes over how I make money & manage it
