I volunteered at the Manhattan ACC as well over 10 years ago and it’s a much better shape today than it was when I was volunteering. People should be complaining about the people who do not remain responsible for their pets, nor give them basic care.Put them out on the street,allow them to breed and not care about the lives they’re bringing into the world, rather than poop on the ACC. People getting angry at an open intake shelter serves zero purpose. they should be angry at New York City that there’s not a shelter in the Bronx, which has an enormous amount of strays that would help take the burden off of the other four shelters so all this to say is I agree with you 100%

I’ve given up arguing in the local Facebook group about ACC. The people complaining about ACC have never stepped foot in a shelter environment or have ever offered to foster the at risk animal!
