I feel like it would be beautiful, but simple, expected. From the first time we see Dorian we expect them to be together… they’re practically enemies (and then actually real enemies when we find out who she really is), also he is the ever attractive crown prince and she is an assassin… it feels impossible in the classical romance way. And that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t have been an amazing story, but Rowan (and Manon) is unexpectedly epic and Dorian and Aelins relationship, specially because of their intertwined/semantic fate, feels so much sweeter when we look at it that way. They were first “enemies”, then condemned together, but they never abandoned each other because their friendship truly meant something for them.
