@jparker_dobb: I love using Mazak offset type for multiples. Looking for a good double jaw vise. eBay has some clones for $211 each🤣. Can’t buy Kurt since Richard Canter and Brittani Butcher stole $7,000 from me. Never use South Shore Rigging Inc for nothing. #Mazak #machinist #Riggers #southshorerigginginc#fyp
Take all the Z retracts and plunges out. out and keep the tool down. Faster, less code, less wear and tear on machine

1in aluminum subplate and a couple of boxes of mitee-bite clamps and you'd be able to run as many as you'd want

They suck. just build a fixture plate. could fit 20 or more parts easily.

Get yourself some serrated jaws from Grip workholding on eBay. We use them for multiples all the time and you can remove the rails and use them for fixtures too. Great for the money

One way to find out, just buy one for now and do a trail run and see if it holds up. We use Kurt double jaws vises. Works very well.

If you run this job a lot consider designing a fixture with a fixed back plane with pockets to hold the material in place with a moveable front jaw type. Even if you had 1 solid back plane and multiple jaws on the front you could get 25-30 pieces easily on that table

I would suggest Look into getting the drop in double station vice locks. The bolt right into the Kurt’s.

Why are you not contouring each part complete then moving to the next part? And what’s up with all the tool changes? Is this for demonstration purposes?

They work decent. I have older versions I don’t like as much as well just because they’re not a much opening.

The Xin Dian vises are well praised by machinists much better than me in my circle. Maybe not great enough for multi setup parts, but for 1 op stuff or op1, they’re fine. They have small vises, for billets that small you could flood your table with them.

you could make split fixtures that hold 4 at a time. make one for each vise. make the very bottom .025 to .035 smaller for clearance the middle should be apart of the bottom. half pockets in the solid part of the middle and outer clamping sides that attach to the jaws. so when you clamp the shut the only part that moves are attached to the jaws. hope that makes sense lol.
