My YT automation was monetized and finally making some money, all you need is patience, it will pay off. and also, it depends on the niche you go into. pick a high-demand niche like Crime and Mystery or AI, and the hard work will pay off.

btw there are 8,760 hours in a year, so if one person were to do that, they would have 760 hours left in said year.

So...they are trying to get rid of Ai slop...that they caused....by allowing and DEVELOPING..the Ai engine...that made the slop..in the first place!
By punishing the creators....who are the main reason...that anyone still stays on YouTube....in the first place.
Because youtube[Google] has sooo heavily pushed ads..that no one really wants... and have done everything they can...to make adblocking impossible.
To increase profits?

Doesn't that... incentivize ai slop that posts hundreds of videos that need less views per video?

Sooner or later somebody’s just going to make a new app just like YouTube and everybody’s gonna move over there. This is how twitch kind of fell apart so fast because they put up so many requirements for so much stuff that people left.

In the last 2 years, YouTube has made me so angry. EVERY VIDEO has two unskippable ads EVERY 3 MINUTES. it makes me hate to use the app and i've gone down on my youtube time so much cuz of it

I average 13,000 watch hours a month. that part is relatively fine, but expecting a creator trying to get monetizedto do 200,000 views a day is ridiculous and I know multimillion view content creators who literally can't hit that metric.

Yeah, and when I get back to posting long form content not a single ad should run on my videos till I’m monetized.

Meanwhile, those in denial are saying, "Hurry up, become a creator, and beat the clock before the new rules take effect"—are you kidding me?! The fastest route to years of burnout is placing unrealistic expectations and unnecessary pressure on ourselves to rush to jump onto the red hamster wheel with only a few months left and zero guarantee of success. Reaching 4,000 watch hours was already an unreasonably high hurdle for the vast majority of people, and now pushing that baseline to 8,000 hours makes monetization virtually impossible for anyone starting out who isn't an SEO marketing wizard YouTube might as well drop the corporate PR, stop hiding behind manipulative phrasing like "meaningful earnings," and just be honest: they simply don't want to pay new and small creators anymore.
