I love and hate that Zutara didn’t happen for so many reasons. Their parallels and dichotomy are evident, between their somewhat shared healing journey, their war trauma, their trust break and make — they are the evidence that just because someone comes from a place, is representative of that place by their background doesn’t mean they share those values, that they want to change, want to love, want to care for the other (Zuko specifically) and work towards an understanding
