I honestly never imagined I would be writing a post like this, and asking for help is incredibly uncomfortable for me. But right now, I have to put my pride aside and be honest about where our family is. I’m 31 years old, and I’m living with stage 4 follicular dendritic cell sarcoma, an extremely rare blood cancer that only a few hundred people in the world are known to have. For the last 10 months, our family has been doing everything we possibly can to keep going. We have used our savings and every donation we’ve received to cover living expenses, medical bills, travel back and forth to treatment, groceries, gas, things the kids need, and all of the other everyday expenses that don’t stop just because you’re sick. But we have reached a point where there is simply nothing left. I’m not able to work right now, and over these last 10 months, our savings and the money we’ve had available have been completely depleted. We are now struggling to keep up with even the basic necessities. Bills are going unpaid, and we are at a point where we genuinely don’t know how we’re going to continue covering our living expenses while I continue fighting this disease. And unfortunately, this week brought more difficult news. I learned that my masses have continued to grow. Because of that, I’m going to be starting a third treatment protocol, hoping that this will be the one that finally gives us some progress and gives my body a chance to respond. I’m scared, exhausted, and overwhelmed, but I’m still fighting. So, as uncomfortable as it is, I’m asking for help. If you are able to donate to our GoFundMe, no amount is too small. If you aren’t able to donate, sharing this post or our fundraiser can make a difference too. Please know that I don’t take any of it for granted. And I also want to be very transparent that I am willing to work with or apply to any organizations, foundations, businesses, churches, programs, or individuals who may be able to help with medical bills, living expenses, utilities, groceries, gas, or other necessities. If you know of something that may be able to help our family, please reach out to me. At this point, I am willing to explore every possible avenue. To everyone who has donated, shared, checked on us, prayed for us, sent messages, or helped us in any way over these past 10 months: thank you. Truly. You may not realize just how much your kindness has meant to us. Every single person who has helped has been part of getting our family this far. I wish I didn’t have to ask. I wish things were different. But right now, we need our community. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing beside us while I continue to fight. ❤️ Our GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/73751442f
