I had the same issue a year back. They told me after maybe 5 calls and complaints, their decision was based off an internal algorithm and risk assessment. Yet, I’d never missed a payment. Always paid in full, every time. Had no failing businesses, no loss of income, nothing to suggest I’d be a risk or miss future payments. Finally got everything restored to as it was after I threatened to move to a different bank. Genuinely weird business tactics on AMEX’s behalf, you’d think a multi billion dollar company would have a human overseeing their more valuable and higher spending customers.
