I like the chunky chenille baby blanket yarn with an 8mm hook, I usually go for Willow granny squares for the blanket, 6 squares is usually the perfect size

I'm a snob when it comes to making things for babies meaning I don't want them smothered in acrylic or polyester (both basically plastic) so I insist on cotton or cotton bamboo blends. I've used bambo-tiful from hobby lobby and it's so incredibly soft but not a lot of color options. I just finished a baby blanket with I love this cotton from hobby lobby, it's also very soft. some cotton yarn are super rough so I definitely have to make sure I feel them myself so I can't really order online. and to be clear, I have a tub of acrylic yarn and have made sweaters for myself and a tank for my older kid with polyester blends. so I'm not anti acrylic, before the acrylic lovers come for me. I just don't like it for babies. I'd love to use natural fibers for everything but it's not affordable for me either. I just make the effort/sacrifice for babies for sure.

I really love lion 'feels like butta' and bernat 'bundle up' .... neither has a super great color selection, but both are more woven, rather than a twisted, so they dont pill and hold up very well over time with regular use.

Bernat Softee Cotton is my usual go-to! Durable, machine washable, natural fibers and very soft and absorbent of baby drool

I don’t think cotton is soft, I prefer HL baby bee sweet delight, sweet delight chunky, or ILTY. All the hobby lobby yarn is so soft

My go to baby blanket depends on the season the baby is born. Currently working on a waffle stitch for a November baby. I’m using hobby lobby I love this yarn acrylic blend. I was a big fan of big twist from Joann’s bit had to make the switch

I like a crochet/acrylic blend because it holds up really well and doesn't need precious care. Toss in the washer and dryer as much as needed.

I like the yarn-bee bamboo-ti-ful it’s so soft. It’s a lightweight cotton and bamboo blend and it washes up so soft and drapes really nicely

I am using a soft light pink for my boyfriend's mother she's expecting a girl and I'm making her a granny square baby blanket I don't know how many granny squares I'm trying to do but the squares are working up fast I don't have to do four rows I believe I'm going to make it 6x6 but I will update when it's done
