This is why women are decentering men in their lives because “allow her to exhale” is trash. No judgement to you, you are describing the conditions. This is called co-regulation. My mother raised us this way, everything revolved around my dad, how he would react, how he would feel, what he would think. It took me 48 years to stop doing this myself.
