Weird...I went to the military and went to college. I make six figures in an area where the average household income is $56k. Education is about implementing not memorizing and judging.

My husband is in law enforcement and needed a degree to get promoted. Then they wanted a masters to get promoted higher. He got both so he could move up. This is becoming the standard in law enforcement. So you don’t want cops anymore? They should just all go find a trade?

As a 28 year old Army vet working on my bachelors degree (in business), I absolutely agree with you. I would not go into debt for college, but given the fact that my GI Bill pays for my schooling, it’s worth it in my opinion. If you are coming right out of high school with no scholarship or ability to use the GI Bill, the trades is the smartest option. Work as an apprentice for 3-5 years, gain all the certs, training, and experience you need and then start your own business and you will set yourself up for life

This is such a misconstrued take. College is absolutely beneficial if you apply yourself and the knowledge learned. If you went and learned nothing then the burden falls upon oneself. Life does offer valuable skills through experience but so does college and to negate that is simply wrong.

College isn’t a scam, coming from someone who has their post 911, this is a case by case issue. Same goes for the military it may benefit others or destroy others. Success is what you make it and how you make it. Discipline is learned every where even in college. Also my technical degree in mechanics will never make more than what I’m going to do with my bachelors lol

The point of college is not solely to get a degree. The opportunities and people you can network with make it worth it. The name alone can get you tons of opportunities.
