1st road trip i did and 1st time i drove on the highway was from south carolina to Arkansas. my pops made me drive the 1st stretch. I made it from Greenville SC to Atlanta in about half the time "it should have taken". he was asleep in the passenger seat and he opened his eyes to watch us pass every car. we were right where it goes from 2 lanes to like 5 going into atlanta. he had me terrified bc he said we left to late and were going to hit rush hour morning traffic in atlanta, and id heard all the horror stories about it. i was driving my 1990 Buick lasabre. it was like 2011. when he asked how fast we were going I said idk. he very calmly said "dont be a smartass". I giggled and said no I really dont. my speedometer stops at like 85 and the needles past it all the way sideways. the very calm freak out he had... but I was so happy bc i beat rush hour in atlanta. I now understand why he was freaking the hell out.😂😂😂
