My mom has been a teacher for nearly 30 years! I got the chance to be apart of her class when I was younger, this is us on a field trip together 🥹. My dad is also an educator and was my college professor all 5 years! I graduated with my Masters Degree this summer and wrote them both special letters thanking them for being my first & last teachers! ❤️

Last year was my first year as a new mom and teaching at the same time, I can 100% say it made me teach differently. I would always think “how would I want someone to treat or talk to my baby” and it changed my perspective!

I’ve worked as a middle school librarian and teacher for several years. Before I had middle school aged children I looked at them as young adults, especially 8th graders. But after my oldest kids went through middle school I realized they’re just big kids. It made me interact with middle school students so much differently. I think all the time now about how they’re someone’s baby. I want to talk to them and treat them the way I want my own children treated. Which is with lots of love and kindness. 💖

Being an educator as a mother was an insane experience. I can't give my students 110% anymore because I was sacrificing the 110% my kids deserved.

I feel the same way! I taught for 7 years before I had kids. I stayed home after having my first. I’ve been thinking the exact same thing lately since my daughter just started Pre-K. If I was still teaching, I’d have a completely different understanding and perspective.

I have homeschooled my kids their entire life and the patience I have with all kids is unbelievable!! Even the difficult ones I some how have such a heart for! It changes you in ways you can’t articulate! Beautiful awareness!!💙💙💙

I’ve been working in education for 9 years. 3 of which while being a mother. When I went back to work after having my daughter I was completely overwhelmed with the way things changed for me. I 100% understood.
