Yes but I can also now immediately smell death when I walk in a hospital instead of the typical hospital smell everyone smells (like alcohol or whatever)

I have so much respect for emts. I just went to the e.r vomiting blood and the emts took me seriously and tried to help and the doctors told me it was chs. nope I gotta have my gallbladder removed😂 the emts knew something was up the minute they saw me. thank God for them because the doctor wouldn't have run further tests if they didnt speak up and tell her there was sum very wrong.

I told my boss about my husbands symptoms after he had a brain bleed from a hemorrhagic stroke. Her emt husband guessed it was a brain bleed before she even told him the diagnosis

For me that was strokes! I got a run of so many in my baby days that now I can smell them off patients who called 911 for a “normal” trip and fall and they’re done with CT by the time their brain starts developing a visible LAMS. “Why did you stroke alert this?” Because they answered weird about their fall man idk what to tell you

Once had a crew swearing that the 18yo on the stretcher was just another ETOH…he went white, PROJECTILE vomited and then stared off into space. Charge and I rushed him to CT. MASSIVE SDH w a midline shift 😅

Tbh I’ve been really curious about what effects how someone vomits after I developed dysautonomia. Before I developed it I puked like a normal person, now that I have it I swear everytime I puke it’s like a slight cough and then projectile vomiting only.

this is a thing! sick vs not sick is the colloquialism in hospital emergency medicine I always heard used. clinical gestalt. definitely a majorly good skill to have that can only be developed with experience!

When someone presents for stroke like symptoms I can now guess whether they’re a clot, a bleed, or not a stroke with like 80% accuracy

I once called a bleed on a guy who kept yawning. He was altered and kept yawning every few seconds and I knew some shit was off. Massive bleed with midline shift.

Okay wait but I need to know the difference immediately because I have severe GERD & CVS but I also have a brain tumor 😭 I fear I would never know if it ruptured unless I had other symptoms besides the vomiting
