It sounds like OP isn’t willing to bend, and she wants what she wants and REALLY doesn’t want to spend time with MIL. 2 kids isn’t that hard to travel with.

My question is when’s the last time she saw her family bc there’s no mention of them? He’s really viewing it as an me vs them which is wild in this scenario. They need counseling immediately but she needs an exit strategy bc he has weapons & does not like her. He views her as an obstacle

For those saying he's selfish, it looks like it's HIS ONE THING he get to do a year with his family and she is complaining? Due to my dad's work when we were kids, my mom would fly with all 3 of us JUST BY HERSELF a lot of the time because she had to and she never bitched about it.
