Hi! Interior designer here- just my suggestions: If the fireplace is movable, it should go under the painting. Next, the bar cart under the stain glass window so you still have something that draws your eye to that wall. After you’ve moved the fireplace, I recommend the chairs facing the fireplace while angled next to eachother with a clear path in the middle towards the fireplace. Lastly, I recommend moving the velvet chair in the corner by the entrance/windows with maybe 2 more tall/medium height plants. PS- love the second leopard print rug, it’s perfection.

Chairs are way better and the second rug fit the space best

Option 3 for rug and for the empty space a high top table with 2-4 smaller stools

I love the 2nd rug. And maybe bench seating under the window. Like a book nook?

I think if you’re gonna do a hide rug you need something under it like this almost. That way it will pull the colors from the wall, curtains and the tones of the chairs and then the spots/patterns of the animal skin rug won’t look as small/ competing with the floor tile.

This is a huge hear me out, can the fireplace move? If so could you try it under the painting and moving both the leather chairs next to each other on the wall with the stained window? Then the red chair can go in the other corner farther away? Does that make any sense lol

Put the two lather chairs together facing the fireplace with a table in between. Use the second rug. Place the burgundy chair with a smaller version of rug 3 on the one wall by the doors with the bar cart.

Chat couldn’t quite get it but I think one side of the room should have the leather chairs in a mirrored position, maybe with a small table between them. I’d also go with a larger, more grounding rug..more black/white print doesn’t contrast enough with the floor. If you love animal print, go for a dark leopard rug? Then the other side of the room could have the bar cart, red chair, and maybe a plant to create a cute little corner vignette.

What are your thoughts on the two leather chairs in front of and facing the fireplace, burgundy chair where the brown leather chair is, bar cart where the burgundy chair is?

Okay first (and sorry if you said this in another video) what is this room being used for? I don’t like the velvet chair in the corner, it does look cramped 😅 I think you should pull the drink cart up slightly* towards the fire place, go with the second rug if you keep any, put both leather chairs at a small angle in towards each other with the circle small table thing between and make sure to pull them forward slightly from the window so they’re sitting closer to the rug and off the curtains. You might be able to get away with putting the velvet chair in the opposite side of the fire place but maybe in the same position? I LOVE the idea of a piano in the other side of the room. But I think some other good ideas are a small reading nook, desk (like office style ish), or small table and chairs (meant to eat at). It really depends on what you want to use the space for!

I see people saying the leopard rug on top of another rug and might I suggest this Anthropologie rug. They also had a more red version at one point so you may be able to find a dupe of it somewhere. I’d love to see a dramatic settee or like feinting chair in the window corner with plants around it. It would be so fun to read there.

Just my opinion but sunrooms do really well with differing individual spaces in a larger room like how you had it. I get why everyone was sharing about clustering furniture near the fireplace but it feels cluttered like that. I think your instinct was right with the way you had it before - and I agree with needing a rug. I'd only add a small table with florals and a vase and a couple of elegant chairs to match, (set in the middle of the room, approximately where the velvet chair was.) That would fill the dead space, add warmth, and create a 3rd area that could seat more than one person. You could also use it as the center for a large rug that would pull the room together from both sides.

Honestly none of the rugs go with what you have there. Your best bet is to get a rug that matches the color of the velvet burgundy chair or the same color as the leather chair. You could add a pattern in the rug but it should have one or both of the colors of the chairs

I LOVEEE THE BIG RUG. and the room looks amazing with all three chairs by the fireplace. I’d use the big area for an antique desk since it has an office vibe.
