Im exactly the same as you, I had 2 surgeries for scoliosis and I have so much back pain its ruining my Life at 25 years old😭

So look up laminectomy. it's where they remove the top half of the bone your spine to make room for the spinal cord. I have that from C2 to C7 and my scar goes from my skull to my shoulder blades. not nearly as long as your's but it is about a foot long

I had sugery April 23rd of this year. I had scoliosis. Had a c curve in lower back going front to back and coming out of that my spine twisted from that it curved again. Dr fixed the scoliosis and untwisted the spine, replaced five disc from degenerative disc disease, had fusion from T2 to S1 and rods down both sides all the way. No bending are twisting. The lower back pain now is no joke, Dr said recovery would 6-12 months. Plus the numbness is crazy even in my butt cheeks!🤣😬 Praying it does get a lot better. I have came a long way since surgery but still have a long road ahead!!

I'm fussed from T9 to L5 since 2017 and now my L5 to S1 needs to be fussed and I'm worried. They will also have to go into my pelvis. I already can't sit long, or walk for long periods of time. It sucks, when something is supose to make u better and u still fight pain after. I had 3 surgerys on back already, 2 were 6 months apart. One cause me not to beable to move my right arm, I hade 3 pinched nerves, so went through surgery for that, and during that surgery they paralyzed my diaphragm. So had to go through another surgery to suture my diaphragm down so I can breathe. It has been a roller coaster.

I had my surgery in 2002 I was 16 then I’m now 41 and have chronic back pain! I have Harrington rods. My curve was at 82 degree after surgery it is 50 now

I had spinal fusion in 2015 my scoliosis was also in a S. The chronic pain does get better however the tension in my shoulders is terrible to this day. Do stretches ! I have no limitation on bending or leaning doing stretches during recovery is something my surgeon highly recommended so I wasn’t “stiff” the rest of my life. That’s terrible your scoliosis is still there my fusion straightened my spine completely

I had my Scoliosis spinal fusion in March of 2019. I'm kind of shocked of how little bending you can do. I'm fused from top to bottom as mine was a backwards C and I have more movement. Other than that, I don't have anything different than you, but I don't have 70% of no feeling in my back, but probably did back in 2019. The feeling will come back, it just takes time. As you said, it's a long road and I could tell you that, this is a surgery I would never want to repeat. Glad you're doing well!

I went from 57 degrees to 0 degrees so they can make you perfectly straight
