What you’re asking for is basically a textbook hero who needs tragedy, sacrifice, or someone forcing responsibility onto him before he acts.PTJ actually gave us something more interesting: Gap chooses to save the world because he wants to, based on his own ideals and outlook on life not because the world forced that role onto him. That’s what makes him unique. What you want would remove that individuality and turn him into a generic hero. Does every main character seriously need a sacrifice or tragedy just to get motivation or a power-up? Worst and dumbest slander I have seen.
