Mushoku tensei is my favorite anime. I wont ever defend rudeus for what he did in his previous life and at the start of the story. I defend what he became. He proved that he can change into a good person.

Alright, imma just say that I agree with the things that this guy said in the vid, but it's just that in Mushoku tensei, Rudeus, while he is a 34 year old man in the body of a child, he's been fighting, and stopping his urges because he's still, again, a 34 year old man with morals, and basic common sense. My first defence for my point is that Rudeus talked about Eris like she was a child, calling her a bratty kid, and yes, during episode seven, when eris ran away to the stables, and she hugged rudeus, he stopped himself from doing anything, because he saw her as a child that's just scared and he feels a wave of guilt, yall wanna know why? because he's a person who has basic common sense, and some morals that actively stop him from doing anything that he doesnt want to do. And theres one more factor that should be taken into perspective, and its that rudeus is in the body of a growing child, so he's still experiencing extreme sexual thoughts, both because of his own mental state (which is also one of the things that stops him from doing anything to Eris) and his own body which produces sex hormones. Btw Eris actually initiated their session of coitus, rudeus said that they should wait until the agreed upon time, but eris overrode his hesitation by using her physical strength to pin him down, and this proves that he wanted to respect their boundaries, and that he wasnt predatory, instead he wanted to not do it, because he has basic morals, and common sense. So basically, She initiated the encounter, rudeus didnt wanna do it because he wanted to wait until their promised time/age, but she insisted and they did it. Next, Eris's dad actually gave rudeus permission to sleep with eris, yet he didnt want to because he thought that it was just wrong. So even if the legal guardian of eris said that it was fine, and the laws of the world that he's in says that its legal a 34 to marry their 12 year old student (Im talking about rudeus's mental age), he still said no which proves that this modern human morals overrode the fantasy world's corrupt norms.

The creator of the series, Rifujin na Magonote, has clarified in several interviews that Rudeus is not a 34-year-old mind trapped in a child's body. When he was reincarnated, his past memories were transferred, but his physical brain and hormones developed from scratch. His urges, fears, involuntary erections, and emotional clumsiness are those of a child and then of a teenager. His brain processed love and attraction in line with his biological growth, not like that of a 34-year-old adult. On Earth, the original Rudeus shut himself in his room at 14–15 years old after suffering severe trauma from school bullying. Chronologically, he lived until 34, but emotionally he never matured beyond a high school teenager. He had no work, romantic, or social experience as an adult. When he arrived in the new world, his emotional maturity advanced in parallel with his physical age. Even though, for the modern viewer, the concept of reincarnation raises a very uncomfortable moral debate in the first episodes, within the logic of the story Rudeus is simply a boy from that world who possesses the knowledge of a past life, but who matured, grew up, and fell in love at the same time as Sylphy and Eris. Sylphiette would accept Rudeus's past, comfort him, and her love for him would become even deeper

rudues was a shut in since 15 there js a mental growth block when you havent experienced anything other then your room he admits after Paul dies that hes js a kid trying to get by with old memories keyword kid rudues admits it that he is still young hes just a person who gained another life after wasting his first one being isekaied isnt a personality reset mushko tensei does thst theme perfectly by gving us one of the most humane characters with human flaws like lust and egi and trauma and fear. yes he is a pervert yes he is weird but that is how ur life will be when you struggle with lust you can only view women as objects understand the media on a deeper level them js watching it to hate you wont ever understand the depth of rudys character by doing that
