I built my first PC at the beginning of this year and every video that I've seen told me never to put more than two sticks of RAM and when I installed them to install them on every other slot. I'm running 32 gigs at the moment with an Intel Arc b580 and Ryzen 7 9800x3d. I just need to update the graphics card and my build will be pretty decent for a Star Citizen. I started with the Ryzen 5 7600

Does anyone know why I can’t run my DDR4 to 3200 speed, I can’t even change the frequency on my motherboard, it’s only running at default speed. It’s a 32gb ram.

I've been searching on google a lot about this and I'm fairly confident but I want someone with experience to answer, if I were to get a 6400mts cl36 kit of ram like a G.Skill ripjaws S5, could I downclock the speed to 6000mts and tighten the latency to cl32 or cl30? I know the silicon will matter a lot, and those kits are 50-100 dollars cheaper than a straight cl30 kit of ram
