edit : if you’re only going to comment that God gives life meaning, that love is real and beautiful, or something along those lines, then this video simply isn’t for you. this is specifically about people who are willing to examine society without relying on its comforting illusions: love, friendship, religion, status, power, money, government, social validation (and so on) and question what actually lies beneath them. when you begin looking at these things through a more detached and analytical lens, you may start to see how much of human life is governed by self-interest, social conditioning, competition, power and manufactured desires. and when you compare the passivity of contemporary society with the intensity, ambition and collective drive visible throughout much of human history, it can leave you deeply disillusioned with humanity and the direction we have taken. and to clarify, “pure heart” is not meant in a moral sense, it doesn’t mean a saint or someone incapable of wrongdoing. it is an intentional exaggeration to describe someone whose mind has become sufficiently detached from these illusions that they no longer feel compelled to pursue them, someone who refuses to seek romantic love, friendship, status, power, wealth, validation, or social approval. in that sense, a “pure heart” is one that remains uncontaminated by the particular delusions and values imposed by the society around it.
