@sacramentourbanmedia916: A California man has been sentenced to 10 years in state prison for a seemingly random attack on a pregnant woman who was using an ATM outside a Target store in San Diego. Cole Klemke was 27 when authorities arrested him in connection with the June 15, 2024 stabbing. He recently pleaded guilty to attempted murder and received the decade-long prison sentence. The 25-year-old victim was four months pregnant when she stopped at an ATM outside a Target in San Diego’s Mira Mesa neighborhood. After getting out of her vehicle to reach the machine, authorities say Klemke approached her from behind without warning and stabbed her multiple times in the neck, chin and shoulder. The woman fell to the ground as the attack continued, but she managed to fight back by kicking Klemke, causing him to flee. She then returned to her vehicle and desperately attempted to control the bleeding, later recalling that she had more wounds than she could cover with both hands. Emergency responders transported her to a hospital, where she received treatment and was released later that day. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage showing the suspect inside Target shortly before the stabbing. Police released images to the public, and tips from community members helped authorities identify Klemke. He was arrested the following day. Police said there was no indication the victim knew her attacker. Investigators also said Klemke did not speak to her before the stabbing and apparently did not attempt to steal anything, leading authorities to describe the violence as unprovoked. In a statement presented remotely during sentencing, the victim said she is thankful to have survived but continues to deal with permanent scars and emotional trauma from the attack.#crime #fyp #viral
