That’s why they often wins even when the audience feels that his opponent is landing more punches, causing more damage, or making his face look worse. Blood and visible damage don’t automatically mean you won the round. Khabib’s team understands the scoring system very well and builds a game plan around it.

Can the UFC just clarify what the scoring criteria is? I have no problem with a system that scores control time but the UFC rules very explicitly state it isnt scored unless theres no difference in damage... Unless it's dead even damage is supposed to be the only thi ng thats scored yet some fighters will just get rounds despite doing zero damage to their opponent bc they had control time. It feels like they just pick and choose what the scoring criteria based off what fighters they want to promote
