𝗢𝗻𝗲-𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 so a recruiter / hiring manager gets it in 5 seconds 𝟮. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 → what were you doing when you first noticed it? what did people do before your thing existed — work around it, put up with it, pay for something worse? 𝟯. 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿 → what type of user were you building for? 𝟰. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 → what else exists, even loosely (including manual workarounds, not just other apps). why didn’t you just use that instead? 𝟱. 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 what you realized that led to your idea → what were you trying first that didn’t work? what was the moment it clicked? this is the part people skip and it’s usually the most interesting thing you have! 𝟲. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 what you built and the tradeoffs you made. → what did you choose NOT to build, and why? what’s the one decision you’d defend if someone pushed back on it? 𝗯𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘀 (if you have it): 𝟳. 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 how you got the word out, # of views on social media posts 𝟴. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 → why did you prioritize this particular feedback? 𝟵. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 daily active users, retention, whatever you've got 𝟭𝟬. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗾𝘂𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 → a text, a DM, app store review — any quotes where users describe what they like and what value they got from your app / project job search tips, product thinking, product design, how to stand out with no big tech experience, portfolio website, resume tips, AI tools for job search, building in public, career pivot into product, non traditional background tech, AI website builder
