using garbage for my business!😄 To be honest, I wasn’t surprised when I got this comment from somebody.. they wouldn’t want to buy from a company that isn’t using fancy packaging, isn’t scented with lavender, doesn’t come with free goodies.. I think we have been conditioned to receive and expect packages to be aesthetically pleasing and beautiful, but at what cost? I used to be someone who bought polymailers for all of my business purposes, until I started seeing how many people in my small neighborhood were tossing perfectly usable mailers from Amazon or wherever they were ordering from. We live in a world where we don’t see where all of our garbage ends up going to, we don’t see the billions of tons of waste that just accumulates and accumulates.. so of course, we don’t conceptualize the damage we are doing on a day-to-day basis (including myself, because I am not perfect!) It is small decisions like me choosing to use recycled poly mailers that can make the smallest difference in the world, which can maybe even inspire one or two more people to do the same. It is not as effective to try and change the whole world at once, but one person at a time instead. So if you do order from me, you can expect different packaging each time depending on what I saved from the garbage :) the outside may not look pretty, but you can rest assured that it is the inside that matters (your jewelry!!!) #smalljewelrybusiness #jewelrymaker #upcycling #jewelryartist #packagingorders
