@celeb__editz2: DC (2026), starring Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi, is an intense romantic action-drama set to release in theaters in late 2026. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the film marks the acting debut of director Lokesh Kanagaraj as "Devadas." Reimagining the classic Devdas-Parvathy-Chandramukhi tale, the story is set in a violent underworld where a complex love triangle unfolds amidst gang wars, high-stakes carnage, and a blood-soaked quest for redemption. Genre: Action / Crime / Dark Romance Director: Arun Matheswaran Cast: Lokesh Kanagaraj, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, Biju Menon Streaming Platform: TBA (Post-Theatrical) Review Summary: Positives: The teaser, recently premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, has garnered massive international attention for its "raw visual aesthetic." Fans are raving about Lokesh Kanagaraj's unexpected transformation into a rage-filled protagonist. Anirudh Ravichander's background score, specifically the "bloody valentine" theme, is being hailed as a masterclass in atmospheric music. Negatives: Some early reactions have expressed "violence fatigue," with critics noting the film's heavy reliance on visceral, gory visuals. There is also a debate among audiences about whether the dark, gritty reimagining of a classic romance will resonate with those looking for a traditional emotional narrative rather than pure stylistic mayhem. Verdict: A "cinematic experiment" that promises to be one of the most violent and stylish films in Tamil cinema; a must-watch for fans of the "Arun Matheswaran-Lokesh-Anirudh" combination.
